Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that permanently destroys fat cells beneath the chin to improve the appearance of a double chin, also known as submental fullness.

The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally occurs in the body and aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella disrupts the fat cell membrane, causing the cells to break down. Once destroyed, these fat cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, meaning the results are long-lasting.

During your appointment, our specialist will assess the area beneath your chin and mark a series of small injection points. The treatment itself takes about 15 to 20 minutes. A topical numbing agent or ice may be applied beforehand to ensure comfort.

Most clients require two to four treatment sessions, spaced at least one month apart, to achieve their desired results. The number of sessions depends on the amount of fat present and your personal goals. Each session involves multiple small injections across the treatment area.

After treatment, it is common to experience swelling, bruising, numbness, or firmness in the treated area. Swelling is the most noticeable side effect and can last for several days to a couple of weeks. This is a normal part of the fat-dissolving process.
